If you are hoping to get involved and make a difference, take a look at this list of various programs and opportunities that are currently available.
If you are interested in helping to grow and foster a community of Clean Tech Open (CTO) alumni, then this program is for you. Some of the positions currently needed include an alumni directory copywriter, an alumni program mentoring lead, and an alumni public relations and success stories lead.
For those who are interested in getting the word out about the program and recruiting new CTO contestants, this program could be a good fit. Duties would include going to universities and grass roots events to spread the word and to get more people interested in CTO. Some of the positions currently needed include a phone blitz team and an event team.
A person on the events team would help to make CTO events fun and dynamic, a place where technologically minded people could gather to learn together. A few of the positions currently needing filled are a breakfast briefing team and launch event help.
Working on the grant development team, you would help to write grant proposals to help procure funding for CTO to pay for things like operating costs, sponsorships, and other day-to-day expenses. Currently, there is a need for grant writers, editors, and proofreaders.
Innovation partners work both to help create new, innovative ideas for the CTO world, and also work to get the word out about recently invented CTO products. Someone in this partnership might help with booths at conferences to spread the word and innovations. There is a large need for help in many aspects of this segment.
A person on the judging team would help to create the list of requirements for participants and CTO finalists. They would help to recruit people to judge the participants, as well as organize the correlating logistics. Some of the positions currently available include scheduling judges for the upcoming CTO event and reaching out to past CTO judges.
For those who have marketing experience, this would be a great opportunity. Those on the marketing team work to get the word out about CTO, and to help make sure that marketing materials are adequately powerful. Some positions currently in need of filling include writing for the website and other marketing materials.
The mentor program helps to match experienced businessmen with CTO teams to help hone their tech skills. Currently, there is a need for a mentor program chair, a mentor program right hand lead, among other positions.
The resource directory managed by CTO is a large, online database that contains hundreds of links. It is maintained by people who use it, so there is always a bit of need for oversight. Currently available positions for this opportunity include a team who can help to write new projects to be added to the directory.
Those on the sustainability team help to make sure that CTO’s practices are eco-friendly and sustainable. Those on this project might work with venues to improve recycling opportunities, or work with past CTO affiliates to spread the word about sustainable tech practices.
Summer Workshop Series
The summer workshop series team is charged with overseeing the two workshops that take place in the summer where potential CTO participants can get valuable information about the opportunity. Currently, there is a need for a summer workshop series chair.
